OH405.23 Vehicle Management

  1. Maintenance.

        (i) All drivers are approved to have basic maintenance services, following the manufacturer’s recommendations, completed on their assigned vehicle up to a limit of $99.99 (e.g., oil changes, replace windshield wipers, etc.).

        (ii) Repairs over $100, but less than $500, must be reported to the Area Fleet Manager prior to servicing. The Area Fleet Manager, in consultation with the respective Assistant State Conservationist for Field Operations (ASTC-FO), will approve or disapprove service based on the age, number of miles, and general condition of the vehicle. The Area Fleet Manager will notify the employee of decision.

        (iii) All repairs over $500 must be reported (prior to servicing) to the Area Fleet Manager who will then forward the information to the respective ASTC-FO and to the State Administrative Officer (SAO) for consideration. The age, mileage, and general condition of the vehicle will be considered in making the decision regarding repairs. The SAO will make the final decision and notify the ASTC-FO and Area Fleet Manager of decision. The Area Fleet Manager will notify the employee of decision.
