Lancaster told Pheasants Forever (PF) members that, “Instead of just nodding your heads in agreement at the kitchen table, you and your neighbors heeded the call and have remained steadfast for 25 years.”

Since its inception in 1982, PF’s wildlife habitat projects have benefited more than 4 million acres across North America. It has partnered in nearly 1,000 different land recovery projects, totaling well over 100,000 acres. Many of these projects were completed in conjunction with Federal, State, and local natural resource agencies, such as the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

In Ohio, the first PF chapters were formed in 1989, and there are now at 38 PF and Quail Forever chapters. Over $6 million dollars have been spent, benefiting 115,000 acres of habitat. Pheasants Forever also hosted over 7,700 kids in youth mentor hunts and conservation education programs in the state.

Jim Inglis, Pheasants Forever Farm Bill Biologist Coordinator explains, “The partnerships that we have in Ohio and across the country work together to support our customers, the producers and landowners that are the stewards of the land. Through these partnerships we are able to deliver technical assistance for the suite of conservation programs we have available. The Farm Bill Biologists will come out to your property and discuss programs that might be available to you that will improve wildlife habitat."

Pheasants Forever assists USDA with conservation implementation through such programs as the Wetlands Reserve Program, Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program, Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Grassland Reserve Program, and the Conservation Reserve Program.

In Ohio, Pheasants Forever employs six Farm Bill Biologists covering a 24 county area. These biologists are located in USDA Service Centers in the NRCS office. For more information or to contact a Pheasants Forever Farm Bill biologist, call 866 914-PFQF (7373), or visit www.OhioPF.com
