Buffer Ohio Awards Program

Buffer Ohio is a statewide awards program that recognizes landowners who have done an outstanding job of applying and maintaining conservation buffer practices to the Ohio landscape.

Buffer Ohio logoThe program encourages Soil & Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) to evaluate their county-level natural resource conservation programs on an annual basis. SWCDs provide a number of services to county landowners and residents including delivery of technical assistance, conservation education, information programs and overall program planning.

Buffer practices include grass filter strips, riparian buffers, grassed waterways, wetland restorations, and field windbreaks
