CADalog- Submitting Files
All SWCD, ODNR, and NRCS CADD users are encouraged to submit
their drawings and/or details for inclusion in the CADalog. Please submit your files
in the following way:
1. Submit the drawing/detail to your CADD Users Group if one
exists in your administrative area. This group will decide if any changes are
needed to the drawing/detail and whether or not the drawing/detail should be
included in the CADalog. The group will submit the drawing/detail to the State
CADD Coordinator for inclusion in the CADalog. If there is no CADD Users Group in your administrative area,
then submit the drawing/detail to the State CADD Coordinator. The Coordinator
will then review the drawing/detail and decide whether or not to include it in
the CADalog.
2. Submit all drawings on a diskette or via e-mail attachment.
Label diskettes with your office name and all file names. All files submitted shall have
the ".dwg" AutoCAD extension. (If you are using a software other than AutoCAD,
please submit your file in ASCII format, preferably with the ".dxf" extension).
3. On a layer named "drawinfo" , show (as a minimum) what screen
colors correspond to each pen size. Any other information that you might want to
include may also be included if desired. A sample detail, named Drawing Information,
is shown in the STANDARD DETAILS section as detail number OH701794.DWG .
Not all drawings/details that are submitted will necessarily be
selected for inclusion in the CADalog. For example, if there is a detail for a tile outlet
pipe already in the CADalog and another detail is submitted, it most likely will not be selected
unless it is significantly different than the one already in the CADalog. We are trying to avoid
duplication of drawings/details as much as possible. Remember, just because your drawing/detail is
not selected for the CADalog does not mean that you can't use it or share it with someone
else.
The current State CADD Coordinator is Rod Yeoman, State
Construction Engineer, located in the NRCS State Office, 200 N. High St., Room 522, Columbus, OH
43215. He can be reached at telephone (614) 255-2492 or by e-mail at
