5.   Downloading Soil Data

 

There are several options to download both spatial (maps) and tabular (reports and attribute) data through the Soil Data Mart.

 

Instructions are given below for the following options:

Access eFOTG.  See page 1-2 for detailed instructions for accessing eFOTG.

 

1.      Open County folder in Section II A. Soils Information in eFOTG, then open folder “d. Soil Survey Data”.  Click on “Download Soil Survey Data and Interpretations”.

2.      Select desired data options, note you can choose either tabular or spatial data or both.  The Template Database contains the MS Acess template highlighted in the template database shown in the middle of the page.  The MS Access template version for MS Access 2000 is highlighted by default.  If you are using another version of MS Access scroll down for the appropriate version.  This template is required to use the data with Soil Data Viewer.

3.      Enter your e-mail address at the bottom of the screen and click on “submit request” button..  You will be notified when the download is complete and will receive a link to the data site.

Access eFOTG.  See page 1-2 for detailed instructions for accessing eFOTG.  Follow the instruction on page 1-3 to open the web-based set of data available on the Soil Data Mart.

 

Once the reports screen is open in the Soil Data Mart, soil data can be downloaded from the reports screen by clicking on the button “Download Data”.
